New Delhi: Abhishek Bachchan’s love life is out in the open now and he is finally more than willing to talk about it.
“I'm happy we're together and that has never been a big secret,” Abhishek told the newspaper Hindustan Times.
After the engagement, the wedding date has become the latest point to speculate on but Abhishek says, “I'm certainly not getting married on February 19. I wonder which media pundit decided on that date”.
And as far as Aishwarya’s professional plans are concerned post-wedding, Abhishek says that is her prerogative. He says “it’s her decision” on whether she wants to work after marriage.
The actor has been receiving rave reviews for his film Guru not only from critics but also from his father, Amitabh Bachchan who told CNN-IBN that he has always held himself back from saying anything about Abhishek but this time he is simply bowled over by his son’s performance.
“This is one occasion when I just couldn’t hold myself back at the excellence of the film and the maturity of his (Abhishek) performance. The content was absolutely flawless. It was a tough role, one that every actor is aspiring to get. Covering a span of 40-50 years is not easy for any actor in a period of three hours but I think he has done an extremely commendable job,” the proud father says.
And in a humble manner, which is characteristic to the Big B he says, “I keep telling him that I would not have been able to do it”.
Guru has also finally managed to ignite the Aishwarya-Abhishek pairing on-screen. But for Abhishek, a film is more important than the chemistry between the actors.
“A film is not only about the male and female lead, it's not only about chemistry. Casting is just one of cinema's many aspects,” he told the daily.
But as is said in films, a happy ending to a story is all that matters and looks like Abhishek is all set to walk down the sunset with his ladylove.
