Asha Negi On Facing Backlash For Her Breakup With Rithvikk Dhanjani: ‘I Still Get So Many Gaalis…’

Asha Negi is a popular name in the television world. She has created a special place in the hearts of her fans. She became a household name after starring in the show Pavitra Rishta. Fans loved her onscreen chemistry with Rithvikk Dhanjani and then with time they even started dating in real life. But destiny has some other plans and the couple decided to part ways. However, it did not go well with her fans. In a recent conversation, Asha revealed that she still receives gaalis from her fans for the breakup.

In a chat with Hauterrfly, Asha said, “People are loving your chemistry so it just happens. That’s why, I think, in television people get coupled up pretty fast,” she said. When asked about how she got over her break-up with Rithvik since it was a long-term relationship, Asha said, “There is a lot of grief, of course. And then, you have to handle everything because families are involved and if you are an actor, then there are so many people, fan clubs… I still get so many gaalis and so does he,” she shared.

Rithvikk and Asha met on the sets of the popular television show ‘Pavitra Rishta’, in which Asha played Archana’s (Ankita Lokhande) daughter Purvi, while Rithvik essayed the role of business tycoon Arjun. Their onscreen chemistry was appreciated by the fans. The show also starred late actor Sushant Singh Rajput and was his claim to fame before he made a move to the Hindi film industry.

Rithvikk and Asha dated each other for a couple of years before they parted ways, breaking the hearts of their fans. They announced their break-up in 2020 during the Covid pandemic, a period which tested many relationships of varied nature.

However, Rithvikk and Asha remain on good terms with each other. Rithvikk is currently rumoured to be dating Krystle D’Souza.

On the work front, Asha Negi is currently seen in Honeymoon Photographer. The six-episode show, directed by Arjun Srivastava, also stars Sahil Salathia, Apeksha Porwal, Rajeev Siddhartha, and Rituraj Singh. Honeymoon Photographer revolves around the story of a newlywed couple, Adhir Irani (Sahil Salathia) and Zoya Irani (Apeksha Porwal), on a trip to Maldives. Everything seems well until the groom is found dead and buried on a beach. Soon, his friends, family and spouse come under the radar of the police as the primary suspects in Adhir’s murder.
