ANGUL: The striking JSPL-affected villagers, who kept the district administration waiting on Tuesday, have agreed to sit across the table at the Collectorate here, on Wednesday. The villagers had earlier refused the offer for talks demanding that the administration and the company should instead hold discussions at their village. However, the scheduled talk has raised hopes for a breakthrough in the week-long impasse that has paralysed the ongoing construction work at the JSPL project site."I am hopeful of a breakthrough. The praja sangh has been asked to depute 50 members for discussions with the administration, said Collector Siba Mishra, who joined office on Tuesday after leave. JSPL Executive Director Rajesh Jha also hoped that talks would help resolve the contentious issues. The villagers are demanding Rs 50 lakh per acre of ceded land, permanent job to each family and free medical aid to all the injured. They, however, continued with their stir blocking all entry routes to the company.
