Contrast this with hot pink pillars on either side and glittering stars by the archway. Well, purists would probably find the idea blasphemous but a lot of little girls experimenting with their ‘virtual’ colouring skills at Citi Centre last weekend seemed to think it was pretty cool. This was actually an activity at the Greenlam Laminates kiosk set up in the atrium of the mall. Spread across six cities in the country, this activity was part of an innovative marketing campaign by the paint brand. The decorative paint options on the computer screens, as one might guess, were courtesy Greenlam. With a `10,000 prize for the best colour concoction, the kiosk saw close to 1,500 walk-ins on day one of the event. This competition will also be open to interested shoppers next weekend. Alex Joseph, vice president - marketing and communication, Greenply Industries Ltd, said, “With this campaign, we wanted to create a connect between beautiful interiors and Greenlam laminates which has been successfully established. The core thought behind the campaign has been very well taken by the consumers and this has even reflected in brand recall.”The pictures of all the vibrant editions of the Taj Mahal will be uploaded on the Greenlam Laminates and Red FM Facebook page inviting people to vote. The design which earns the maximum number of votes will be declared winner and also be blown up and showcased life-size on September 8 and 9.Also, just to make things a little more fun, look out for a tall Shah Jahan look-alike standing by the kiosk if you head that side. You don’t want to mess with him though, he even has with him a Mughal-style bodyguard!  first published:September 04, 2012, 09:03 ISTlast updated:September 04, 2012, 09:03 IST
