Outlining the Eye
Draw the upper line of the eye first. Draw an arc shape, as shown in the image.
Draw the lower line of the eye. Use the same arc drawing technique but instead this time do it upside down.
Draw the inside of the eye (the iris). Draw a circle, lightly, inside what you have just finished drawing. It doesn't have to be perfect. Just make sure the top of the circle touches the top arc, and the lower part of the circle touches the lower arc.
Draw a circle inside the circle (the pupil). This mini circle does not touch the bigger circle at all. Check you're own eye if you're unsure of this; even when the pupil is dilated, it won't touch the outer circle.
Draw the eyelashes. Decide how long the lashes will be, then proceed to draw the line lengths all the way around both the top and bottom arcs of the eye, as shown in the image. The image shows a stylistic way of drawing the eyelashes and stops halfway but you can be more realistic and draw eyelashes the whole way around. Use shading to get the eyelashes looking full and of the appropriate darkness you're after. Drawing eyelashes well can take some practice. You decide how long, how dark, how many eyelashes to have, etc.
Coloring the Eye
Grab some color pencils. You're now going to color your drawing so it looks realistic.
Pick a color pencil for the eye color. Common shades are brown, green and blue but you can do more unusual colors such as orange or violet, or even do hybrids such as hazel eyes (brown and green). Shade in the big circle, but not the small dark circle; that needs to be shaded in black or graphite pencil color only. Experiment! Pick out a brown, a green, and both shades of blue, and test which looks better when you color inside.
Shade in under the lower arc. This last touch cleverly makes it seem that the eye has a dark circle.
