Barcelona: Barcelona forward Lionel Messi continues to smash records after playing his 65th game in a season - more than he has ever played in one year, according to his club.
Messi, currently at the Copa America with Argentina, has now featured in 65 games since August 21, 2010 when he started the season with a fixture against Sevilla in the Supercopa de Espana.
Since then, the striker has played another 64 games which beats the record set during the 2009-10 campaign where he finished the year on 64 matches in all competitions.
Barcelona's official website claims the 24-year-old is likely to set more records depending on how far Argentina advance in the Copa America.
Sergio Batista's men beat Costa Rica 3-0 on Monday night to book their place in Saturday's quarter-finals.
