Ahead of the opening match against Australia, Chile are sweating over the fitness of Vidal who is struggeling with a knee injury.
Brazi Chile coach Jorge Sampaoli says there is a "high possibility" that star midfielder Arturo Vidal will be fit to play in the team's opening match of the World Cup against Australia on Friday.
Vidal, Chile's key player along with forward Alexis Sanchez, has been recovering from knee surgery undertaken last month.
Sampaoli says Thursday that the Juventus midfielder has been training as normal over the last three days but "the player might not have the same rhythm as the rest" of the squad.
Chile, fancied by many pundits to go far in the World Cup, take on Australia in Cuiaba in Group B, which also contains Spain and the Netherlands.
