NTA Postpones Joint CSIR-UGC-NET 2024 Due To 'Unavoidable Circumstances & Logistics Issues'
The circular issued by the National Testing Agency (NTA) circular says the Joint CSIR NET examination scheduled for 25-06-2024 and 27-06-2024 has been postponed due to unavoidable circumstances and logistics issues

The National Testing Agency on Friday announced the postponement of the Joint CSIR-UGC-NET Examination June-2024. The joint CSIR-UGC-NET exam is for the eligibility of candidates for junior fellowship programmes in science subjects.

The circular issued by the National Testing Agency (NTA) circular says the Joint CSIR NET examination scheduled for 25-06-2024 and 27-06-2024 has been postponed due to unavoidable circumstances and logistics issues.

The revised exam date will soon be announced through the official website — csirnet.nta.ac.in.

On June 19, the Central government ordered the cancellation of the UGC-NET examination amid questions about the “integrity” of the exams.

A day after the cancellation of the UGC-NET examination, the Union Education Ministry handed over the matter to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) for probe on June 20. Education Ministry Joint Secretary Govind Jaiswal said prima facie the government felt the exam had been compromised.

“No complaints were received but the inputs we received from agencies indicated that the integrity of the exam has been compromised. The action was taken suo motu to safeguard the interests of the students,” Jaiswal added.

On the same day, the CBI filed an FIR in the UGC-NET exam paper leak case under sections of criminal conspiracy and cheating. More sections could be added depending on further investigation into the case.
