Tamil actor Jayam Ravi’s super hit film Thani Oruvan hit screens on August 28, 2015. Now the actor is currently making headlines for the sequel, Thani Oruvan Part 2. As per the latest reports, the actor to play the role of the villain in Thani Oruvan Part 2 has been confirmed. It is said that Bollywood actor Abhishek Bachchan will play the villain in the highly anticipated sequel. But there is no official update yet.
However, in Thani Oruvan, the character of the antagonist, Siddharth Abhimanyu, was played by Arvind Swamy. His stellar performance elevated the character to legendary status, leaving a lasting impression on audiences. Thani Oruvan 2, directed by Mohan Raja, is set to feature the return of the original stars, Jayam Ravi and Nayanthara, reprising their roles from the first installment.
Thani Oruvan, the action thriller film, has completed 8 years since its release. For the unversed, the movie revolves around IPS officer Mithran (Jayam Ravi). He is shown infuriated by the industrialists and politicians denying the availability of cheap medicines. Mithran is eager to find the head of this medicine mafia, Siddharth Abhimanyu (Arvind Swami), who is also a decorated scientist. How Mithran deals with him forms the core theme of Thani Oruvan’s storyline. Thani Oruvan also featured Nassar, Mugdha Godse, and Vamsi Krishna in other important roles.
The cinematography and editing of the movie were handled by Ramji and Gopi Krishna, respectively. The music was composed by Hip-Hop Tamizha, and the soundtrack album received positive reviews.
Overall, the movie was a huge commercial success and also became one of the highest-grossing Tamil films of the year. The film was also remade in Telugu as Dhruva in 2016 and in Bengali as One in 2017.

Jayaram under the banner Passion Studios. The film stars Jayam Ravi, Nayanthara, and Vinoth Kishan in the lead roles, with Rahul Bose, Vijayalakshmi, Narain, Ashish Vidyarthi, Azhagam Perumal, and Bagavathi Perumal in supporting roles.
