The South Korean car parts company, a subsidiary of Hyundai Motor Group has reportedly collaborated with the German Optical giant, Zeiss. It has been reported that the decision of partnership has been taken to create Holographic Windshield Display for cars.
The report says that the futuristic technology will transform the entire windshield, and will allow the occupants to use it as a normal touchscreen display. It will be transparent in nature, and well equipped with a technology that will allow the driver to not get distracted while on the run.
Here’s What Concept Image Shows
A concept image also has been shared on the internet, where it is clearly seen as a fully decluttered cabin, and both the instrument console and infotainment system have been shifted into the windscreen, projecting all the required information on the front.
The concept will also show all the important notifications and information on the big windscreen such as audio controls, navigation, speed limit, and gear positioning, among other important notifications.
Idea Came From?
The report suggested that both companies have come up with this idea from the Head-Up Display (HUD). They believe that the concept will eliminate the normal screens from the dashboard, and will turn the cabin as minimalistic as possible.
Comment from Mobis
As per the details shared by Teambhp, quoting Mobis that said, “Imagine navigation and driving information unfolding like a panorama across the wide, transparent windshield where the driver’s gaze rests. The passengers next to the driver watch movies or other videos on the vehicle’s glass.”
In addition, it said, ” While viewing the latest video, a video call comes in, and a friend’s welcome face appears in the corner of the glass screen. This dream technology, previously existing only in movies or advertisements, is about to become reality.”
