Is the IPL, renowned for its gripping drama akin to a blockbuster movie, now becoming a snooze fest? Well, in a recent match between Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) and Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), one woman at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium seemed to echo that sentiment as she ditched the cricket action for a dose of the beloved sitcom ‘Friends’ on her phone. A snapshot of the scene quickly went viral, striking a chord with many.
Shared on ‘X’ by a user, the image captured the moment when the woman ahead was caught watching ‘Friends’ on her smartphone, with characters Ross (David Schwimmer) and Rachel (Jennifer Aniston) gracing her screen. Her disinterest in the RCB vs. LSG match was aptly encapsulated by the ‘X’ user: “Can’t believe this girl is watching Friends during an IPL match (crying emoji).”

The online reaction mirrored a collective nod of agreement rather than surprise, with many playfully ribbing RCB for their lacklustre performance, having lost their second consecutive match.

“After she realised it is a RCB match,” quipped one user in the comments section. “When u thought your team will give entertainment instead of depression,” came another jest. A third chimed in, “Until she realised its was a stadium rather theater.”
Notably, one user highlighted the premium seating where she was stationed, saying, “And that’s P Corporate stand where tickets range from 25k to 30k!” However, speculation arose about whether she secured a ‘free ticket’.
Others shared her intrigue, inquiring about her progress in the ‘Friends’ series. One even ventured a guess at the episode: “I think she watching that episode, when Ross and all other go to Geller House for party.” Another speculated, “That’s that Alec Baldwin episode right? Is it weird that I know which episode is this, by just looking at a small blurry scene of a 10 season series?”
