Waddingham was nominated for outstanding performance by a female actor in a comedy series for her role in Ted Lasso.

Hannah Waddingham looked stunning in her off-shoulder red gown at the 2024 SAG Awards. The British actress completed her look with a handmade cardboard purse made by her daughter Kitty. The nine-year-old made a triangular-shaped hand purse that had the word ‘Epic’ written on it. Waddingham proudly flaunted her unique accessory at the red carpet. She told Glamour Magazine that Kitty made the purse with leftover cardboard in their house. Waddingham said that her daughter was unaware about her outfit and then, kitty decided to put all colours of the rainbow on it.

Waddingham described the cardboard purse as “it goes with everything and nothing” and said that it could hold “more than your average bag.” The 49-year-old actress was nominated for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Comedy Series for her role in Ted Lasso. The award was won by Ayo Edebiri for her role in The Bear.

While talking to Netflix red carpet host Elaine Welteroth, Waddingham spoke about her decision to carry the purse at SAG Awards and said, “My daughter wanted to contribute, so she made me a bag. She said to me, ‘You know mommy, you don’t need to take it.’ And I was like, ‘No, it’s going on the red carpet with me.’ Imagine, my stylist was like, ‘Wait what?”

Previously, Waddingham had talked about managing motherhood with having a busy career to People Magazine. She said, “My primary function is being a single mama. Mommy guilt is real, but I keep saying to her that we are a team and that I have to do this. I have to strike while the iron is hot. I’m not so conceited that I would think that I will always have this kind of focus. I’ve always said to her, ‘Mommy must take this time while the light shines on me, because the light shines on you.'”
