One of the biggest highlights of an Indian wedding is the entry of the groom to the ceremony venue. It is an event in itself, setting the tone for the big evening ahead. However, this viral video has taken an entirely new approach towards the groom’s entry, something that is leaving the netizens in laughing splits.
Local18 reports on the now-viral video, taken from the district of Lakhimpur Kheri, Uttar Pradesh, which shows how the family dealt with an impossible wedding situation. According to the video, the wedding ceremony is being conducted in a flood-like environment, where it’s nearly impossible to walk without getting wet. Thanks to the harsh July downpour, the family members were forced to make the groom sit on his brother-in-law’s shoulders, to keep him safe from the deep waters.
As per more reports, the groom is named Ramnivas, who is the son of Durgesh Kumar, from the Belha Siktiha village. The groom had to travel to the village of Barsola, in Tikunia Nagar Panchayat, for his wedding. However, for nearly three days the Belha village was submerged in water. So much so that even entering or going out of the place could pose a threat to life. The village locals are taking the help of tractors or boats to get around the region. Due to this, the groom’s brother-in-law, Ramkumar, was called to help with the procession of the Baraat. From the house’s courtyard, Ramkumar carried his future brother-in-law on his shoulders to the venue of the ceremony.
The exclusive video captured by Local18 shows the groom in a sparkling, flower-embroidered, heavy sehra, as he sits on Ramkumar’s shoulder. Who then carries the groom through water-clogged roads, as the other family members follow the two behind. While some are making sure that the groom does not disbalance.
