A Tiktoker found rare coins from the 1700s were found at a farm using a metal detector. As a passionate metal detectorist, Prospector Tuck from Pennsylvania, US frequently unearths hidden treasure, buried deep inside the earth. He posts videos of the intriguing objects he finds on his TikTok account. Using a metal detector at a property that was built in the 1700s, he discovered early American coins, one of which he had never seen in person before, according to a story in The Sun.

He excavates a deep hole as seen in the video, and the metal detector beeps to let him know when it’s getting closer. He yells, “Oh my god,” as he rips the coin out of the earth after realising he has found an invaluable coin.

But his astonishment is soon to be an understatement as he digs out more antique coins from the ground with the help of his metal detector. One of these turned out to be the Standing Liberty Quarter of 1918. There was not much detail visible on the coins, but Denver’s “D” mintmark was visible on it. Later, when it was put up for auction, this small coin was sold for Rs 15.74 lakh.

The second coin was a Matron Head cent of 1816, which was auctioned for 376,000 dollars i.e. Rs 3.12 crore. Not only this, another coin from the 1800s, a Flying Eagle coin of 1858, was sold for $72,000 i.e. Rs 59.75 lakh. These coins were minted between 1856 and 1858 and had the letters “A” and “M” of America inscribed on them.

A 1921 Saint-Gaudens double eagle was recently auctioned for Rs 4.8 crore. A silver dollar was also sold, which was worth 5 million dollars. These “large coins” have Lady Liberty with the word ‘Liberty’ written on a hair band in the middle of the obverse. The thirteen stars that surround her stand for the thirteen colonies.
