This Thirsty Elephant's Story Has An Unexpected Hero, Smiles Guaranteed

As summer has approached, the intense heat returns to parts of India. During these months, water plays a crucial part not only in quenching our thirst but also keeping us hydrated. Apart from humans, water becomes a source of relief for animals who equally face the brunt of scorching heat. Now, a video has surfaced on the internet which shows a youth offering water to a thirsty elephant. Needless to say, such an act of kindness has won the hearts of millions.

The video begins with a young man jumping out of a tempo and rushing to an elephant with a huge jar of water in his hand. The jumbo, who is seemingly domesticated, looks quite thirsty after roaming in the streets for long. The man soon lifts the jar and pours water into the animal’s trunk. The tusker happily gulps water, putting its trunk inside the mouth. It again stretches out its trunk asking for more water before the video ends.

The wholesome clip was posted on social media platform X (formerly Twitter) with the caption, “Great Job Brother.”

Social media users were in awe of the young man’s noble deed. They flocked to the platform in no time and dropped their reactions. “Well done, keep up the good work!” a person commented. Another said, “Who love animals are great souls.”

A user, who seemed to know the jumbo quite well, informed everyone that its name is Ram. He went on to add that the location is Indore and that he even feeds the elephant whenever he comes across it.

“This elephant’s name is “Ram” (you can see it on his forehead), whenever I see him on the road always gives him fruit to eat or some money to his caretaker, this video is from Indore you can identify that from clean road, oh yes but never made a video of it,” the user wrote.
