You must have received unsolicited calls from banks asking if you need a loan or credit card. These spam calls, sometimes, annoy us to our core, isn’t it? Just like all of us, a doctor from Bengaluru was tired of blocking some of the numbers but it didn’t work and he was flooded with more spam calls. Given the constant calls from a leading bank’s loan team, he recently called them out as he shared his unpleasant experience on his X handle.
In a post on X, the Bengaluru doctor named Sundar Sankaran expressed his frustration for being pestered with unwanted calls from HDFC Bank. Referring to these calls as a nuisance, he hit out at the bank writing, “HDFC loan requirement callers have become a nuisance, and if you get angry with them, you are pestered with more calls despite blocking. Today, after one caller got fired by me, another caller claiming to be the manager of HDFC wanted to know why I was rude. Looked like spam calls, but HDFC has to act and investigate.” He also added a few phone numbers to his post from which he received those calls.

Dr Sankaran’s tweet quickly garnered the attention of netizens on the platform. Shared on March 30, the post has been viewed by thousands of people. Asserting how they have also been flooded with similar calls, many even shared similar experiences. A user, however, had the best advice for the doctor as he said, ”Sundar best thing is don’t answer the calls of unknown numbers. Sometimes I send an sms, ‘I don’t recognise your number, send me a message’..No response after that.”
As the responses full of criticism against HDFC started flowing in, the bank apologised to the doctor in a tweet that read, “Hi Sundar, sorry to hear about your experience. Please DM us the caller details and your contact number on which the call was received for better assistance.”

Dr Sankaran, however, refused to send a message asking them to take the necessary action against the number provided in his post.
