Tonnes of waste is generated around the world every day, and different countries manage this waste using various disposal methods. There is one country where the waste management process is remarkably efficient — so much so that the waste seems to ‘disappear’ overnight. This doesn’t mean it vanishes magically, but rather that it is disposed of in a highly efficient manner, allowing it to be processed within a day. A recent video shared on Instagram highlights this unique approach to waste management in Singapore. According to the video, Singapore has an advanced garbage disposal system, where waste is collected daily and processed effectively. For example, plastics are crushed and repurposed for road construction, resulting in the absence of visible waste in the country.

Around 2,000 trucks collect garbage daily, which is then transported to a large plant for processing. In these facilities, waste is incinerated to generate electricity, which is subsequently supplied to residential areas. According to the National Environment Agency’s website, Singapore employs a comprehensive waste management strategy, including reducing, reusing, recycling, waste treatment, landfilling, and managing ash, to handle waste effectively.

The video has gained over 10 million views, with many people commenting on Singapore’s impressive waste management practices. Some American viewers suggested that their government should adopt similar measures. Others praised Singapore for being a clean and beautiful place, and many believe other countries could benefit from following Singapore’s example.

Known as the cleanest, greenest and safest country in the world, Singapore is definitely at the top of the list when it comes to popular places for foreigners to relocate. Home to a broad array of cultures, thisz Southeast Asian nation has four official languages; Malay, Mandarin, Tamil and English.
