After receiving a parcel with 5-6 patties, the man was horrified to find that they were contaminated with fungus.

Social media users have frequently encountered disturbing stories of customers finding anything but healthy food in their packaged or online-ordered meals. A recent case that has surfaced involves a customer allegedly discovering fungus in patties from a bakery. The incident, which reportedly took place in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, was highlighted in a video shared on X, showing the customer confronting the staff member. The exact date of the incident remains unconfirmed.

After receiving a parcel with 5-6 patties, the man was horrified to find that they were contaminated with fungus. Outraged, he returned the spoiled burgers to the bakery. At the eatery, he made sure everything was documented on camera, opening each patty one by one and displaying them to the staff.

The customer rejected the staff’s offer to replace the patties and instead called an officer from the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) to the bakery. During the call, he identified the restaurant as Annapurna Sweet House and Bakers and inquired about the process for filing a complaint against it.

Additionally, the man told the official that he was fortunate to inspect the patties before consuming them, noting that otherwise, he might have eaten the contaminated one. He also reported that “one of the patties had saliva in it.” Emphasising the need to file a complaint and take strict action against the bakery, he refused to compromise and rejected the bakery’s offers.

“Patty lovers, be careful. In a famous restaurant situated at Ramkatora in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, a young man opened a patty, see for yourself what was inside. You can understand by watching the video why your doctor often forbids you to eat such things! Please avoid fast food and other foods like this,” the video on X (formally Twitter) roughly translates to.
