Man Leaves Noodles In -13 Degree Weather, What Happens Next Will Give You Chills
The viral video shows a man taking a bowl of ramen outside on his porch during a particularly cold day but what happens next shocks him.

Snowy days and chilly dry weather often call for steaming hot comfort foods like a bowl of noodles. As delightful as a bowl of piping hot ramen might be, a recent viral video on Instagram proves that winter can turn your favourite meal into a frozen masterpiece in the blink of an eye, especially if you are living in sub-zero temperatures. A video is going viral that shows a man taking a bowl of noodles to the snowy porch. Just as he puts the noodle bowl on the railing, something extraordinary happens – both the noodles and the fork froze in mid-air, creating a visually stunning and somewhat bizarre culinary display. “8 degrees temperature is no joke," exclaimed the caption accompanying the video.

For those scratching their heads at the seemingly modest temperature, a quick lesson in American measuring units is in order. While eight degrees might sound relatively mild, in the United States, temperatures are often measured in degrees Fahrenheit (°F). Translated into the Celsius (°C) scale, that seemingly harmless eight degrees Fahrenheit converts to a bone-chilling -13.33 degrees Celsius. Water starts freezing when the temperature drops to 0 degrees Celsius or 32 degrees Fahrenheit.

The video quickly became an internet sensation, amassing over 1 million views and 39,000 likes on Instagram. Of course, no viral video is complete without a lively debate in the comments section. Some users expressed suspicion, questioning how long the individual stood there holding the fork in the frigid air. Others winced at the sight of bare hands in freezing weather, suggesting that frostbite might be a more immediate concern than the frozen noodles. A few people also criticised the video for wasting food for the sake of social media views.

An Instagram user jokingly wrote, “Put that in a museum." Another person remarked, “Omg, I’m hurting just watching those bare hands without gloves." Someone else commented, “I realize you can reheat & eat… but I’ve really been bothered by food art in the midst of cost increase & shortages. Can you distract the masses with something else yet."

Back in February 2016, a video went viral that showed a man throwing a bowl of boiling water into the air in sub-zero temperatures. Just as the water hit the air, it instantly turned into snow.

The video was reposted on YouTube and read, “David Freiheit was vacationing with his family in St-Donat, Quebec, Canada, in mid-February when he decided to demonstrate the Mpemba effect, which is when warmer water sometimes freezes faster than colder water."
