You must have often seen paan shops on the roadside, with many individuals running their household by feeding paan to paan lovers. Some barely survive by selling paan worth at just ten rupees. But in the bustling streets of Satta Bazar in Bikaner, Rajasthan, a paan seller has captured the attention of locals and tourists alike with his remarkable story of success. Meet Phoolchand, the man behind the famous Mulsa Phulsa Paan shop, where paan lovers not only come to eat paan but also to catch a glimpse of the paanwala.
This paan seller sells paan, wearing gold worth Rs 2 crore. He is seen selling paan wearing many gold necklaces, bracelets and earrings. The man himself said that he wears gold jewellery weighing more than two kilos. Despite wearing so much jewellery, the person opens his gumti and then starts feeding paan to the people. There is always a crowd of people at his kiosk to see the paanwala.
He was born into a family of paan vendors and inherited the legacy of the 93-year-old paan shop. Earlier it was run by brothers named Moolchand and Phoolchand. But now, it is run by Phoolchand and Moolchand’s son.
Popular for its diverse range of paan offerings, the shop attracts patrons from far and wide. The price of paan is between fifteen to twenty rupees, which makes it quite economical. However, it was his unique passion for jewellery that set him apart from the rest.
In a video that has surfaced online, Phoolchand is seen selling paan at the shop land he is loaded with jewellery. According to him, he wears about two kilos of gold which includes many earrings, many types of bracelets on the hand and many gold chains around the neck. Many rings are also visible on his fingers. The way the price of gold is increasing, the price of jewellery is said to be above Rs 2 crore. But even after wearing these jewellery, he prefers to sell paan.
