DYK Amitabh Bachchan Once Misunderstood Ranveer Singh’s Gesture For Deepika Padukone?

Kaun Banega Crorepati season 15 is keeping viewers on the edge of their seats. This season marks the return of the iconic Amitabh Bachchan as the host of the show. Besides his role as a quizmaster, Amitabh Bachchan is celebrated for his entertaining and nostalgic personal stories. Recently, we stumbled upon an old video from KBC season 13, where Amitabh Bachchan shared a humorous anecdote about finding himself in an unexpected situation. He was apparently caught in the middle of Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone’s public display of affection (PDA).

This amusing incident took place while Big B was hosting an episode featuring his Piku co-star Deepika Padukone, and the filmmaker Farah Khan as guests on the show. Talking to them, Amitabh Bachchan said, “Humare saath bhi ek durghatna ho gayi (I got involved in an accident).” He went on to describe an awards show where Ranveer Singh made a grand entrance on a crane. As the crane descended and came closer to Amitabh, Ranveer Singh made a specific hand gesture (pointing two fingers at his eyes) in his direction. Confused by the gesture’s meaning, Big B playfully responded by repeating the gesture back at him. The situation took an even funnier turn when Ranveer Singh tossed his microphone, and Amitabh Bachchan skillfully caught it mid-air.

“Mere bagal mein Jaya ji baithi thi. Bohot aahiste se kaan mein aaye, ‘Yeh tumhare liye nahi kar raha hai’ (Jaya Bachchan was sitting next to me, she leaned in and whispered that the gestures were not for me),” he recalled. Jaya Bachchan then told Amitabh Bachchan to look beside him.

“Bagal mein Deepika ji baithi hui thi. Yeh sab jo tha yeh tab chal raha tha aur tab inka vyah nahi hua tha (Deepika was sitting next to me. All this was happening. And this was when they were not married yet),” Big B said.

Deepika Padukone and Amitabh Bachchan have previously worked in Shoojit Sircar’s Piku. They shared the screen space with the late actor Irrfan Khan. The two stars will once again collaborate on two projects. First, they will star in The Intern Hindi remake by director Amit Sharma and second, they will also be seen in Nag Ashwin’s sci-fi film Kalki 2898 AD with Prabhas as the leading man.
