Truecaller is giving more reasons for people to pay for its service in India after launching its new version of call recording for its premium users in the country. The new twist to the call recording option of the caller ID app is that you can also use the power of AI to get the calls transcripted, either in English or Hindi.
Call recording was previously offered by the platform but Google pulling the plug on the feature meant the option was disabled for its users. However, Truecaller re-introduced call recording in the US last year and now its users in India also have a chance to start recording calls and even see the script in front of their eyes. You can use the feature on both Android and iOS if you have paid for the service in the country.
Truecaller Call Recording For Users In India: How It Works
Truecaller has made it easy to record calls and you don’t need to enable any feature to make it work. All you have to do is just call one person and you will see the Record button on the left of the call icon, if you use the Truecaller dialer app. For those using other dialer apps, the app will show a floating record button. The recording is confirmed once the call ends and shows you a transcript in a new tab on the dialer app.
The process is slightly lengthier if you use TC on an iPhone because of Apple’s restrictions for apps like these. You can record the call on iPhone by going to the settings and enabling the feature while the call has been initiated.
Some people might have reservations about having the feature, while some would welcome its addition, albeit in a premium version. Truecaller has been looking to increase its subscriber base in the country, like most platforms, and it will be hoping these features help it convince more people to spend on its service.
