Google Photos Will Make It Easier To Block Faces In Your Memories: How It Works
Google Photos is getting a slew of new features including the AI boost that will make it more popular.

Google is set to introduce notable updates to its Photos app, giving users enhanced control over the faces that appear in the Memories feed. According to a report by Android Authority, the tech giant will soon roll out a feature that allows users to hide certain individuals from appearing in their memories section.

Previously, users had to navigate a lengthy process to block a face from appearing in the Memories feed. The upcoming update promises a more streamlined approach, enabling users to easily hide a face directly from the photo's details page. This change is aimed at making the procedure quicker and more convenient.

How To Block Faces In Google Photos

– Open the picture and swipe up to view its metadata.

– Tap the three dots next to the face in the People section.

– Select the ‘Hide Face From Memories’ option.

– Choose between two options: either show the person less frequently or block them entirely from appearing in the Memories feed.

This new feature offers a simpler and more efficient approach compared to the previous method, requiring fewer touches and allowing users to bulk hide faces directly from a photo if needed. However, Google has not yet announced the exact date for the feature's rollout to all users.

It is expected to become available in the coming months. In addition to the face-hiding feature, a recent report indicates that Google is introducing a new feature called ‘My Week’ to its Photos app. This feature will enable users to share weekly memories with friends and family by selecting and highlighting their favourite photos.

Users will also be able to invite other Google Photos users to view their weekly memories, similar to the way Instagram Stories function.Meanwhile, tech rivals Apple and Google have recently teamed up to introduce a new data transfer tool to simplify sharing photos from the Google Photos app to Apple’s iCloud photos. The tool is a part of the Data Transfer Initiative, which aims to give customers more control over their data by simplifying the transfer process between various services.
