Samsung Electronics has unveiled a pair of cord-free earbuds - Gear IconX. The new wireless earbuds not only track fitness information, but also provide users with feedback on their running performance.

The earbuds provide data such as heart rate, distance, speed, duration and calories burned through the Voice Guide - even without a smartphone.

The Gear IconX also provides a standalone music listening experience. You can either transfer music from a smartphone or a PC to the Gear IconX, or access it through Bluetooth connectivity.

It has an internal storage of 4 GB that can store up to 1,000 MP3 files. Users can tap or swipe the earbuds to control the music.

The earbuds come with three different sizes of eartips and wingtips, and can be activated by simply placing the earbuds in the user’s ears.

Available in three colour options - black, blue and white, these earbuds are compatible with devices running Android 4.4 KitKat and above, and have a minimum of 1.5GB RAM.

The Gear IconX will be available from Q3 2016.
