Apple quietly launches repair program to fix MacBook's worn-out display coating for free
Apple is not advertising the program under which it will replace the screens on Retina-equipped MacBook and MacBook Pro models for free.

New Delhi: After users complained that their MacBook and MacBook Pro’s display coating was wearing out quickly, Apple quietly launched a new program to fix that.

The Retina displays on MacBook devices are layered with anti-reflective coating. However, in some devices, the coating is wearing out due to pressure or stains, thereby ruining the appearance of the device.

To address the issue, the tech giant has rolled out a program in which it will replace the screens on Retina-equipped MacBook and MacBook Pro models for free until either October 16, 2016 or three years from when you purchased the device, whichever is longer, Engadget notes.

Users will get compensation if they already paid for a fix.

While this might help those who’ve paid a fair amount for getting the screen look pristine as before, Apple is reportedly not advertising this program as others.
