Our world is in dire need of environmental protection. Our world is rapidly changing, accelerating in incredible technological advancements simultaneously and the environment we call home is on its way to deterioration. In Rajasthan, the locals of the Bhilwara city protect the trees and the environment, in their own unique and traditional way.
Local18 reports state that in Bhilwara, the locals engage in tree worship, which is a part of their tradition. The villages of the region worship the trees and plants and decorate them with a turban. It gives out a message of tree protection, as per the information given. The tradition has been practised by several villages in the region, that too for generations.
These villages include Mahua, Manpura Amritia, Barundni, Biletha, Gogakheda, Asind Karera Raipur, and Sahada, where the trees are worshipped and kept clean. Through the practice, thousands of acres of pasture land are being secured and protected in the region. It is greatly helping the environment become rich with trees, plants and grass.
According to the information provided, the villages started the practice by gathering a temple or a shrine. They worship the lord with great enthusiasm and pomp. After that, they take the turban from the shrine, and one end is transported to the temple while the other is taken to the place of worship. The entire village becomes a part of the worship and participates in it by touching the turban as a form of offering respect.
When the worship is completed, the plants and the trees are decorated with turbans and the locals pray for their prosperity and opulence. According to the village citizens, the event is attended by thousands of women as well as children along with several other people belonging to different communities.
