The new Apple MacBook Pro is here. Apart from the unique Touch Bar, users would require a bunch of adapters to get started. Apple has only added Thunderbolt 3 ports along with a 3.5mm headphone jack in the new MacBook Pro.
There are five models- three options for the 13-inch MacBook Pro and two for the 15-inch variant. The cheapest MacBook Pro (13-inch) costs Rs 1,29,900 and doesn't come with the Touch Bar integrated Touch ID. To get the new Touch Bar, you will have to shed a minimum of Rs 1,55,900.
So, if you wish to buy the new MacBook Pro, here are the adapters you will need.
What is a Thunderbolt 3 port?
The Thunderbolt 3 port offers data transfer speeds up to 40Gbps. It is compatible with all USB Type-C devices but expect speeds to be slower. Also, note that if you plug a USB Type-C cable into the Thunderbolt 3 port, it is not guaranteed to work always. So, be sure that the USB Type-C adapter that you buy is Thunderbolt 3 port compatible. Otherwise, it will act like a power port only.
How to connect USB Type A devices (traditional USB pen drives, etc)?
You can opt for a USB Type-C Hub compatible with Thunderbolt 3 port for a starting price of Rs 3,000. The USB Type-C hubs are available in several combos like with HDMI, VGA or Gigabit Ethernet Adapter. Check out these
