Apple iPhone 2019 to Feature USB-C Port and In-Display Touch ID
The next-gen iPhones could come with two new features that might entice users.

Apple is having a bumpy ride after reports said that it reduced its revenue expectations for the first time mainly due to poor iPhone sales in China. The cut in the sales forecast was blamed almost entirely on the economic slowdown in China, but other reasons like high pricing, increased competition and consumers holding on to older models cannot be ignored.

So how is Apple going to tackle the issues? Well, for starters it seems that it might be working on some new features on the upcoming iPhone models. If you remember, Apple removed the Touch ID when it introduced the iPhone X in favor of Face ID. This was followed yet again when it launched the new iPhone XS, XS Max and XR phones last year. Just a few months back, the new iPad Pro was launched with a USB-C port instead of the traditional Lighting connector.

According to Jean Baptiste Su, Vice-President and Principal Analyst at Atherton Research, Apple iPhone units, this year are expected to feature a USB-C port along with an in-screen Touch ID fingerprint scanner.

Moving to USB-C could make it easier for iPhone users to find accessories for their handset. With that, it could also help them find cheaper alternatives instead of paying a premium to Apple. As for the in-display Touch ID, a number of Android smartphones today feature an in-display fingerprint scanner, so implementing the tech shouldn’t be a huge issue.

With that, the new iPhones are also expected to feature a smaller notch, which is something a variety of Android phones have achieved in the past year. Apple could also add a TrueDepth Camera to the back of the 2019 iPhones and incorporate "Time of Flight" method which is a less expensive system that is easier to manufacture than the current method.
