More than 200 Kannada films were released at the theatres in 2023. Many of them fared well at the box office. Some of these films not only dominated the box office, but also captivated the audience with their songs. These films include Ghost, Saptha Sagaradaache Ello, and others. This space articulates the list of Kannada songs that have gained accolades from the audience in 2023.
1. Pushpavati- Pushpavati, or as many call it Shake It Pushpavati, from the film Kranti became a hit amongst the audience. Another track named Bombe Bombe has received massive success from the audience. Pushpavati, however, received more praises from the listeners. V Harikrishna composed the music, while Yogaraj Bhat penned the lyrics. Kranti was released at cinemas on January 26, 2023.
2. Bad Boys- Duniya Vijay-starrer Bheema’s shooting is currently underway. The first song from this film titled Bad Boys has become a chartbuster. Charan Raj composed the music, while Rahul Dito, MC Bijju, and Nagarjun Sharma penned the lyrics.
3. Protest Song- The Protest Song from the film Hostel Hudugaru Bekagiddare is another Kannada track that became a raging hit. B Ajaneesh Loknath composed the music, while Bhaskara Bhatla penned the lyrics. Hostel Hudugaru Bekagiddare was released at the theatres on July 21, 2023.
4. Saptha Sagaradaache Ello (all tracks)- Every track from the Saptha Sagaradaache Ello franchise struck a chord with the audience. Charan Raj composed the incredible music for both the parts of Saptha Sagaradaache Ello. Dhananjay Ranjan, Nagarjun Sharma, and others penned the lyrics for both parts. Saptha Sagaradaache Ello – Side A released on September 1, while its second part was released on November 17, 2023.
5. Single Sundara- This song is from the film Raghavendra Stores. B Ajaneesh Loknath composed the music for this entertaining track, while Santhosh Ananddram and Nagarjun Sharma wrote the lyrics. Raghavendra Stores was released on April 28, 2023.
6. 90 Hakku Kittappa- Arjun Janya composed the music, while Shashank wrote the lyrics of this track. It is from the film Kousalya Supraja Rama, which was released on July 28, 2023.
7. Suryakanthi Naanu- This song is from the movie Tagaru Palya directed by Umesh K Krupa. Vasuki Vaibhav composed the track, while Daali Dhananjaya penned the lyrics.
8. Kaatera Theme Song- Dedicated to the farmers, this song is from the movie Kaatera. Tharun Sudhir has directed this film. Aniruddha Sastry, Abhishek M R, Madhwesh Bharadwaj, and Vishak Nagalapura provided their vocals. Punith Arya penned the lyrics while V Harikrishna composed the music.
9. Sanje Mele- This song is from the film Matinee, starring Rachita Ram and others. Poornachandra Thejaswi S V penned the lyrics and music. Matinee was released in September 2023.
