Bhopal: Amid allegations of horse trading to destabilise the Kamal Nath government in Madhya Pradesh, one of the MLAs caught in the thick of controversy, Rambai Singh has said that she will 'neither tell a lie nor speak the truth' about the goings on.
Rambai Singh is a suspended MLA of the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), who was 'brought back' by Congress leaders Jitu Patwari and Digvijaya Singh's son Jai Vardhan Singh, from a luxury hotel in Haryana to Bhopal on Wednesday. Digvijaya Singh had alleged that the BJP was trying to destabilise the Congress government in the state and was trying to 'buy MLAs'.
Back in her constituency, Rambai Singh refuted the allegations made by the Congress that several of its MLAs were taken to Delhi in a chartered flight.
She said, "My daughter was unwell and I had booked a flight to Delhi a week before. A former minister and BJP MLA was also in the same plane. But I had no discussions with him, only the customary greetings were exchanged. This is totally wrong that I went with the BJP MLA to Delhi."
On Wednesday, a video went viral in which Rambai Singh is seen with the Congress leaders. Based on this video, Digvijaya Singh had claimed that they had "rescued Rambai" from the clutches of the BJP.
When Rambai Singh was asked whether she was rescued after a small fight in the hotel, she said, "You should know the truth from both the BJP and the Congress."
On the stability of the Kamal Nath government, she made it clear that she was with Kamal Nath and will continue to support him. "There is no threat to the state government. If he wants to make me a minister, I will." said Rambai.
