Tamluk: At least 11 persons were injured in a clash between activists of the CPM and Trinamool Congress at Khejuri of East Midnapore district on Thursday night, two days after polling was held in the area.
Superintendent of Police K Jayraman said 11 persons were injured in a political clash at Sherkhan Chak under Khejuri police station, which is adjacent to Nandigram. Sticks were used in the clash and eight of the injured were admitted to hospital, he said.
Trinamool leaders said five party workers were admitted to Contai Sub-divisional Hospital in a serious condition while three others were released after first aid.
On the other hand, three CPM activists were admitted to Kamardaha primary health centre, party sources said.
Polling was held in the district on May three.
