Hyderabad: The Telangana government has proposed a salary hike in the state Assembly. The bill proposing salary hike has been supported by all parties.

The Telangana Payment of Salaries and Pension and Removal of Disqualifications (Amendments) Bill 2016 introduced by Legislative Affairs Minister T Harish Rao, proposed to hike salaries of Chief Minister, Ministers and members of both Assembly and Council to almost over two fold.

If passed, the legislators' gross salary would go up to Rs 2.30 lakh per month from the present Rs 95,000 per month (including allowances), chief whip Koppula Eswar said.

This comes even as MLAs from Andhra Pradesh are also demanding a hike in salary.
