143. Silwani is a state Assembly/Vidhan Sabha constituency in the state of Madhya Pradesh and is part of Vidisha Lok Sabha/Parliamentary constituency. Silwani falls in Raisen district and Malwa North region of Madhya Pradesh. It is categorised as a rural seat.
There are a total of 1,98,039 voters in the seat, which includes 1,05,476 male voters, and 92,562 female voters. In the 2018 Madhya Pradesh elections, Silwani recorded a voter turnout of 77.33%. In 2013 the turnout was 75.25%, and in 2008 it was 71.29%.
In 2013, Rampal Singh of BJP won the seat by a margin of 17,078 votes (12.2%). Rampal Singh secured 49.24% of the total votes polled.
