Bhubaneswar: Days after the deadly Naxal attack in Chhattisgarh, anti-Naxal operations have started in Odisha as well. The state police sources say there is specific information about Naxal movement towards certain areas like Koraput and Malkangiri.
Reports suggest Naxals from Odisha may have been involved in last week's blooodbath in Chhattisgarh. The deadly attack in the Bastar district of Chhattisgarh left 24 people dead including state Congress leader Mahendra Karma and state Congress chief Nand Kumar Patel.
Earlier on Tuesday, the government said anti-Naxal operations will be intensified in the aftermath of the Naxal attack on Congress. The government ruled out holding peace talks with the extremists unless they abjure violence.
Minister of State for Home RPN Singh said Maoist barbarism and cold blooded murders have peaked in the last six months and there was an urgent need to re-look the policy dealing with the Naxals.
