Masood murder: Cong seeks clarification from MP BJP chief
There are reports of possible involvement of BJP leaders in the RTI activist Shehla Masood murder case.

Bhopal: The Madhya Pradesh unit of Congress on Thursday demanded that state BJP chief Prabhat Jha makes a clarification about reports of possible involvement of BJP leaders in the RTI activist Shehla Masood murder case.

"In view of the latest developments and media reports, Jha should clarify the role of BJP leaders, specially after the arrest of interior designer Zahida Pervez," Congress president Kantilal Bhuria said.

"After Pervez's arrest, the needle of suspicion has tilted towards the BJP leaders," Bhuria claimed. He also alleged that the shooter Shakib Ali (a co-accused) had been seen sitting close to BJP leaders at a programme organised by the state BJP's Minority Cell to felicitate Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on June 11, 2011.

Leader of Opposition in the state Assembly, Ajay Singh, demanded Jha's resignation in view of the newspaper photographs showing him sitting close to the alleged killer.

"If the BJP leader had any morals, he should resign from the post immediately," Ajay said. Masood, a well-known RTI activist, was shot dead outside her house at Koh-e-Fiza locality of Bhopal on August 16, 2011.
