New Delhi: Soon after the Oil Ministry slashed CNG prices in Delhi by 20 per cent, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal took credit for the Central government's move. Kejriwal congratulated Delhiites on Twitter over the reduction in CNG price in the national capital.
"Congrats delhiites. Just a day before i took oath, central govt increased CNG prices in delhi," he tweeted.
Earlier on Monday, Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Veerappa Moily announced the cut in CNG and PNG prices.
While the CNG prices will be reduced by about Rs 15 per kg, the prices of piped natural gas will also be reduced by about Rs 5 per cubic metres.
Kejriwal said that the Delhi government had challenged the Centre's decision to increase CNG prices in the Supreme Court. The Apex Court had stayed the central government's orders following which the CNG prices were being rolled back now.
"Govt challenged it in supreme court. SC has stayed central govt order. CNG prices rolled back," another Kejriwal tweet read.
