Mangalore: Karnataka Dalita Sangharsha Samiti (DSS) on Monday staged a protest against yoga guru Ramdev for his recent alleged anti-Dalit remarks aimed at Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi.
Ramdev had attacked Gandhi at a function in Lucknow on April 25, saying he visits Dalit homes for honeymoon and picnic.
The protestors demanded his arrest and burnt his effigy near the Deputy Commissioner's office. Demanding Ramdev's arrest, the DSS submitted a memorandum to the chief minister through the Deputy Commissioner.
District convener of DSS Chandu L Belthangady and state organizing secretary Rohith L and others were present.
