Gujjars ready for talks with Rajasthan Govt
An eight-member delegation of Gujjars will hold talks with the state government.

Jaipur: Gujjar leader Colonel Kirori Singh Bainsla has agreed to hold talks with Rajasthan government over his community's demand for five per cent reservation in state government jobs and educational institutions.

Colonel Bainsla, who is leading the agitation at Pilukapura, said that an eight-member delegation of Gujjars will hold talks with the state government.

Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot had on Tuesday appealed to the agitating Gujjars to end their protest over the reservation issue as the matter was sub-judice.

The stand-off between Gujjars and the Rajasthan government entered the 10th day on Wednesday. Tourism, rail and road traffic in parts of Rajasthan have been severely hit by the Gujjar agitation.

Gehlot also alleged that the Gujjar agitation was being managed by the Bharatiya Janata Party.

"I have been told that the plotting of the Gujjar protests was done by some people who gathered at the wedding of BJP president Nitin Gadkari's son," said Gehlot.

Gujjars have blocked the National Highway 11 in Dausa, and several other interior routes in Karauli, Sawaimadhopur, Bharatpur, Dholpur, Alwar districts. They have also squatted on railway tracks in Bharatpur, Dausa, Tonk and Sawai Madhopur.
