Govt to roll back 'misery' tax on healthcare
The much awaited Goods and Services Tax bill is likely to be tabled in Parliament today.

The Government is likely to roll back the 5 per cent tax on healthcare, which many are calling the misery tax as it will make treatment more expensive.

Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee is expected to make the announcement in his reply to the debate in the Lok Sabha today. The proposal which was put forth during the Budget invoked Opposition from the medical fraternity.
