Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday reacted to a spoof video of him dancing, saying that he “enjoyed” seeing himself dance. He appreciated the “poll humour” amid the ongoing Lok Sabha elections.

“Like all of you, I also enjoyed seeing myself dance. Such creativity in peak poll season is truly a delight! #PollHumour,” the Prime Minister wrote in his post on X.
PM Modi’s reaction comes hours after the same spoof video, depicting West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee dancing, went viral on social media.
Kolkata Police demanded a social media user to disclose their identity after the Trinamool Congress chief’s spoof video went viral. The state police said failure to comply could result in legal action under section 42 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC).
The BJP had sharply reacted to the Kolkata police’s demand, saying that the state police has “more pressing issues on hand, rather than act like Mamata Banerjee’s doormat”.
BJP IT Cell head Amit Malviya also said that the Election Commission of India should take note of “voter intimidation by Kolkata Police”, adding that this is the same state police which hounded a University professor at the behest of Bengal CM, just because he shared a cartoon of Mamata Banerjee on WhatsApp.
The Bharatiya Janata Party’s Bengal unit, meanwhile, took a jibe at Mamata Banerjee and compared the two leaders’ way of tackling the situation.

“Two sides of the coin: PM finds joy in the video, while Mamata’s police resort to threats and deletion over a similar tweet,” the Bengal BJP posted on X, asking Kolkata Police to “grow up!”.

Meanwhile, BJP’s Mandi candidate, Kangana Ranaut said “this is called taking a chill pill”.
Mamta didi ji this is called taking a chill pill, aap bhi kabhi le liya karo, hamesha gusse mein rehti ho, bachchon ne aapka dancing meme kya bana diya, aap toh unko jail mein daalne lagi. How uncool of you !! Sorry to say but you are too uptight, rigid and uncool. https://t.co/duaS2WBNu7— Kangana Ranaut (Modi Ka Parivar) (@KanganaTeam) May 6, 2024
Taking a swipe at TMC chief Mamata Banerjee, Ranaut said, “Mamta didi ji this is called taking a chill pill, you should also be like this sometimes. You are always angry, you are set to send kids to jail who made your dancing video meme. How uncool of you!! Sorry to say, but you are too uptight, rigid and uncool.”
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma also reacted to PM Modi’s repost on X and said, “My PM, My Pride!”
