Vijayawada: In the backdrop of growing demand for introduction of Lokpal Bill by August 15, Communist Party of India leader D Raja on Sunday said that the Parliament should not be bypassed as far as the discussion of the bill is concerned.
"Bills are made in parliament but parliament should not be bypassed. If UPA has the will, it should consult political parties and take them into confidence and discuss with them before introducing the bill in parliament," Raja said.
The executive and the judicial systems should also be brought under the ambit of the ombudsman, he added.
Raja said the agitations being propagated by Anna Hazare and Baba Ramdev against corruption is a direct fallout of the failure on the part of the government's institutions in curbing the menace.
