BJP all set to corner Dikshit govt in monsoon session
The session, which will run till September 7, will have a total of four sittings.

New Delhi: The monsoon session of Delhi Assembly is likely to start on a stormy note on Monday with BJP set to corner the government on a range of issues including "delay" in regularisation of unauthorised colonies, price rise, inflated power and water bills and alleged corruption.

Senior BJP leader VK Malhotra said the Opposition will target Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit for failing to regularise the unauthorised colonies despite making announcements that 917 such settlements will be regularised.

"Now the Chief Minister is talking about regularising 917 unauthorised colonies. But not a single colony has been regularised during the past 14 years of Congress rule," he said.

Malhotra, who is leader of opposition in the assembly, said BJP will also vociferously raise the issue of "massive corruption" in the government, price rise and failure of the government to provide affordable accomodation as promised.

The session, which will run till September 7, will have a total of four sittings.

When asked about BJP's plan to corner the government, Dikshit said the opposition party never cared for people of the city and have been disturbing proceedings in the house in the last few years.

"Have you seen them sitting in the House in the last few years. They politicise all the issues. But we are determnined to go ahead with our job of serving the people," she said.

The Delhi Cabinet met today to finalise the government's strategy to counter the opposition. "We know how to deal with them. They have nothing new to say," said a Minister.
