Pakistan Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) is upset with Hizbul Mujahideen Chief Syed Salahuddin for not delivering “favourable results” in Kashmir after the abrogation of Article 370 by the government, according sources in Hizbul.
The tension has become palpable after the Hizbul chief refused to participate in the drug trade with the Pakistani Army for money.
After the Abrogation of Article 370, Pakistan’s terror activities in Kashmir almost stopped due to the strictness of the security forces. ISI wanted to Salahuddin to revive Hizbul activities in the Valley.
The situation became worse after in a recent meeting in July the ISI told Salahuddin to deliver or hand over charge to Hizbul commander Amir Khan.
The ISI has stopped financial support to Hizbul and its office in Islamabad is also sold, the sources said. Salahuddin is receiving death threats from ISI, the sources added. Recently, he has upgraded his security to up to 12 guards.
Salahuddin approached Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) leader Raja Farooq Haider and others for his support and to open a front against ISI with him.
For ISI, it is an “absolute failure” not knowing anything before abrogation and even the successful major events like G20 in Kashmir.
There are also demands in Gilgit Baltistan to seek a merger with India as the people feel they have been “left behind” in the race for development, sources added.
Sources say Pakistan’s decision to make Mushaal Hussein Mullick as special assistant to Pakistan’s Prime Minister on human rights is to teach Salahuddin a lesson. Mullick is Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front’s chief Yasin Malik’s wife.
According to top Indian intelligence sources, India has “successfully managed the Kashmir issue and the government is clear that it is a done deal. The only issue which is going to be considered is the statehood of Jammu and Kashmir. No infiltration and foreign interference is our motto.”
The sources further said Pakistan is a “failed state” and there are no reasons to discuss or consider the Kashmir issue with them. “The people of POK wanting a merger with India is their own failure and we have got nothing to do with their internal issues.”
“Salahuddin should have taken a cue long back and we don’t rule out his killing by the ISI in the coming days because his utility is over,” the sources further said.
