Mercedes Benz Allows Access To Its Charging Outlets For All EVs
Mercedes Benz India expands EV charging network for all brands, offering up to 180 kWh capacity, revolutionizing electric mobility nationwide.

Mercedes Benz India has taken a significant step towards promoting electric vehicle (EV) adoption in the country.

They recently announced the expansion of their EV charging network to customers of all brands. Mercedes Benz is not only extending its charging network but also contributing towards standardizing the ultra-fast charging facilities.

This means that all-electric vehicle owners in India, regardless of the brand, can now access the high-quality charging stations, offered by Mercedes Benz. Interestingly, the car brand has the largest number of EV charging outlets in India and now partnering with other brands, they’ll provide EV charging solutions.

Furthermore, the brand will be offering charging solutions with impressive capacities, going up to 180 kWh, in addition to regular fast chargers with a capacity of up to 60 kWh. Globally, Mercedes Benz has a network of over 2,000 EV charging outlets.

In India, the company is set to launch this initiative with around 140 EV chargers spread across more than 25 cities. The company is scheduled to kickstart this development in the upcoming month and as of now, they currently have around 40 chargers in the country.

Meanwhile, MD and CEO at Mercedes Benz India, Santosh lyer said, “We will be extending this entire charging facility, not only for Mercedes customers but for all brands, luxury and mass, so that they can come in and charge their cars at a faster pace at our fast charging network.”

To make this more accessible for EV car owners, Mercedes Benz has introduced a user-friendly app. With this app, the company aims to provide information about the brand’s EV charging stations, along with access to over 150 charging outlets by other brands. Developed by the Research and Development division of the German auto giant, located in Bengaluru, the app is available for all EV owners. It allows users to conveniently locate the outlet available across India, making the process of charging electric vehicles more efficient.

Reportedly, the app is set to offer a range of additional features and users will have access to news flashes, a Dolby Atmos sound system, in-cabin sound control and the option to choose wallpapers for the front passenger screen.

Mercedes Benz are also planning to promote awareness about EV charging solutions. This initiative is specifically targeted for chauffeurs of luxury electric cars, aiming to address concerns like range anxiety and provide knowledge about charging options. The brand is actively training them to better understand and manage these aspects and enhance the overall EV ownership experience.
