Mahesh Babu, a renowned actor in Tollywood, lost his father, the legendary actor Krishna, on November 15, 2022. To mark his first death anniversary, Mahesh Babu and his wife, Namrata Shirodkar, organised a memorial event in Hyderabad. As a tribute, the couple has initiated the Superstar Krishna Educational Fund, aiming to grant scholarships to 40 underprivileged students, spanning from primary school to postgraduate studies, according to a report by Hindustan Times. The newly launched fund stands as a heartfelt homage to Mahesh Babu’s late father, extending educational support to those in need.
In 2020, Mahesh Babu and Namrata Shirodkar established the Mahesh Babu Foundation with the primary goal of providing financial assistance to children, especially infants dealing with heart-related conditions. The inspiration for this foundation came from their son, Gautham, who was born with a heart ailment.
It has been a year since the passing of Tollywood actor Mahesh Babu’s father, Krishna. Having suffered a cardiac arrest, he was undergoing treatment at the time of his passing. In his remembrance, the family organised a memorial event in Hyderabad, attended by close ones. Other family members, including Ashok Galla, Sharan Kumar, and Mahesh’s sisters, were also present to honour the occasion. During his final rites, members of the film industry also came together to pay their respects and offer solace to the grieving family.
Reflecting on his father’s memory, Mahesh Babu recently posted a throwback picture of his father on X (formerly Twitter), expressing, “Superstar, always and forever.”

Mahesh Babu also shared a glimpse of the memorial in Hyderabad on his Instagram handle. Accompanying the picture, he wrote, “One year of missing you…Superstar, always and forever.”

Mahesh Babu’s wife Namrata Shirodkar posted a photo from the remembrance meet on her Instagram handle. In the picture, the couple was seen paying their respects not only to the actor’s photograph but also to his mother, Indira Devi. Captioning the picture, she wrote, “We miss you, Mamayya Garu, and you will always remain in our thoughts and prayers. May your soul continue to rest in peace, and May we honour your memory by spreading the same love and warmth you graciously gave to us.”
Meanwhile, Ghattamaneni Siva Rama Krishna Murthy, better known as Telugu actor Krishna, contributed to approximately 350 films. Beyond his legendary acting career, he garnered recognition as a distinguished director and producer. In 2009, he was honored with the Padma Bhushan. The late actor made his entry into Telugu cinema with the romantic film Thene Manasulu, directed by Adurthi Subba Rao, in 1965. Unfortunately, he passed away on November 15, 2022, succumbing to health issues.
Work-wise, Mahesh Babu’s upcoming film Guntur Kaaram is in progress. Directed by Trivikram, it is scheduled for a theatrical release in January of the upcoming year.
