Aamir Khan's Ex Wife Kiran Rao SKIPS Ira Khan's Wedding Reception, Actor Reveals Reason | Watch

Aamir Khan’s ex-wife Kiran Rao gave Ira Khan’s reception a miss. The filmmaker had been a part of the wedding functions from the get-go. She joined Reena Dutta, Ira’s mother and Aamir’s first wife, at the haldi, marriage registration and even the pre-wedding festivities. However, Kiran skipped the star-studded reception. Taking place on Saturday, January 13, at NMACC in Mumbai, Aamir confirmed that Kiran will not be at the reception.

Speaking with the paparazzi gathered outside the reception hall, Aamir said that Kiran was forced to skip the reception due to her health. “Kiran ji ki tabiyat theek nahi hai (Kiran is not feeling well),” he said. Watch the video below:

Aamir Khan has invited 2500 guests for Ira Khan and Nupur Shikhare’s reception. These include Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, the Bachchan family and more. According to an India Today source, dishes from nine cuisines will be served at the reception. “The Khans have kept a plethora of menus for guests. A total of 9 different state cuisines are a part of the reception venue. The Gujarati menu apparently dominates the palate, with Lucknowi and Maharashtrian food also on the list,” the source said.

Ira and Nupur exchanged their vows and registered their marriage on January 3 in an intimate wedding ceremony in Mumbai followed by a three-day wedding ceremony in Udaipur. The couple exchanged their vows in a white wedding ceremony.

Ira Khan, the daughter of Aamir Khan and Reena Dutta, is the founder and CEO of Agatsu Foundation, an organisation dedicated to mental health support. Meanwhile, Nupur Shikhare is a recognised fitness coach, consultant, and athlete. They dated for a few years before he proposed to her last year. The couple hosted a grand engagement party as well shortly after.
