Veere Di Wedding: Kareena-Sonam's Film Beats Pad Man & Raid, Becomes Third Highest Opener of 2018
'Veere Di Wedding' unleashes the wild side of its four female protagonists and revolves around childhood friendships and everlasting bonds.

Kareena Kapoor Khan and Sonam Kapoor's Veere Di Wedding has emerged as the third highest opener of 2018, till now. Although we were already predicting a phenomenal start for an-all female squad comedy, it has exceeded all expectations. Earning a whooping Rs 10.70 crore at the box office on Friday itself, the film has beaten Akshay Kumar's Pad Man and Ajay Devgn's crime drama Raid to secure the third spot in the list of biggest openers of 2018.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh confirmed the opening day business of the film by tweeting box office figures. He posted: "#VeereDiWedding has a WINNING START on Day 1... Makes its way into the TOP 5 OPENERS of 2018... Expected to build up a SOLID TOTAL over the weekend... Fri ₹ 10.70 cr. India biz." (sic)

Veere Di Wedding unleashes the wild side of its four female protagonists and revolves around childhood friendships and everlasting bonds. The story centers around Kareena's Kalindi Puri who is reluctantly set to marry Sumeet Vyas and what unfolds is bumpy, but an interesting, ride for the said friends.

In his review of Veere Di Wedding, CNN-News18's film critic Rajeev Masand said, "Shikha Talsania and especially Swara Bhaskar nail the outrageous lines without a hint of inhibition, and Kareena Kapoor brings some feeling into even the most schmaltzy, manipulative scenes."
