Just coinciding with the release of his most recent film GOAT (Greatest Of All Time), Thalapathy Vijay has added yet another feather to his cap. The actor has become the second highest income tax paying Indian celebrity of this fiscal year. This places him ahead of Bollywood superstars like Salman Khan and Amitabh Bachchan. According to reports, Thalapathy Vijay has paid Rs 80 crore as income tax in the fiscal year 2024-25. Considering the fact that he received a remuneration as high as Rs 200 crore for GOAT, it comes as no surprise that he is placed this high on the list. The top position has been held by Shah Rukh Khan, who was paid an amount of Rs 92 crore as income tax.
Salman Khan and Amitabh Bachcham come third and fourth in the list, paying Rs 75 crore and Rs 71 crore respectively. Surprisingly, Akshay Kumar’s name has not been listed among the top taxpayers from among celebrities. Mohan Lal and Allu Arjun’s name have also been included with them paying Rs 14 crore each, while Kiara Advani has reportedly paid Rs 12 crore as income tax.
Thalapathy Vijay’s latest film, GOAT (The Greatest of All Time), released on September 5, has further cemented his status as a top star. The film premiered to great enthusiasm, with Tamil Nadu theatres reporting full houses. In GOAT, he takes on a dynamic double role, playing both a father and son.
