For all Vijay fans, we have amazing news! The actor is all set to begin shooting for his last film, tentatively titled Thalapathy 69. The makers and cast recently united for a grand muhurat pooja. The filming will start on October 5, as per a post shared by Bollywood trade analyst Taran Adarsh on X (formerly Twitter). Directed by H. Vinoth, Thalapathy 69 also features Bobby Deol and Pooja Hegde in pivotal roles. Gautham Vasudev Menon, Priyamani, Prakash Raj and Mamitha Baiju are also part of the project.
Taran Adarsh posted a set of images from the muhurat pooja. In the pictures, we can see the team dressed in ethnic best. In his note, the film critic wrote, “THALAPATHY VIJAY’S FINAL FILM STARTS OFF WITH GRAND MAHURAT POOJA… The much-anticipated film #Thalapathy69 – starring #ThalapathyVijay – commenced with a mahurat pooja, held on the second day of #Navratri… Filming is set to begin tomorrow [5 Oct 2024].”
Taran Adarsh added, “The film also features #BobbyDeol and #PoojaHegde along with #GauthamVasudevMenon, #Priyamani, #PrakashRaj and #Mamitha Baiju. Produced by #VenkatKNarayana [KVN Productions] and directed by #HVinoth, #Thalapathy69 will release in Oct 2025 in #Tamil, #Telugu and #Hindi. A few days ago, the makers of Thalapathy 69 announced that Bobby Deol would be a part of the pan-India film. In a note shared on X, they wrote, “100% official now, Super happy & excited to announce that Bobby Deol joins #Thalapathy69 cast #Thalapathy69CastReveal #Thalapathy @actorvijay sir #HVinoth @anirudhofficial @Jagadishbliss @LohithNK01”.

Thalapathy Vijay was last seen in The GOAT. The film, directed by Venkat Prabhu, also stars Prashanth, Prabhu Deva, Mohan, Jayaram, Sneha, Laila, Ajmal Ameer and Meenakshi Chaudhary.
Coming back to Thalapathy 69, the movie is going to be a remarkable tribute to Vijay’s illustrious three-decade career. This project promises to be a grand finale that celebrates his journey and contributions to the film industry. Thalapathy 69 will be released in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi. Releasing in October 2025, the film is bankrolled by KVN Productions.
