Remember Former South Actress Raasi? Here’s What She Is Doing Now

Raasi is a former actress who has primarily worked in Telugu and Tamil films. She has appeared in Malayalam and Tamil films as Manthra. She has acted in films such as Subhakankshalu (1997), Gokulamlo Seeta (1997) and Pelli Pandiri (1998). She made her television debut in the Telugu soap operas Girija Kalyanam (2020) and Janaki Kalaganaledu (2021). Raasi got hitched to assistant director Sri Muni in 2005. Her husband is rarely seen at public events. Sri Muni directed a film Lanka with Raasi in the lead role. The film turned out to be a disaster at the box office. The couple has a daughter named Rithima.

Raasi started as a child actress at the age of 9 in the Telugu film Mamatala Kovella (1989). She also worked in the Hindi films Rangbaaz (1996), Jodidar (1997) and Suraj (1997) with Mithun Chakraborty.

In Telugu, Raasi rose to fame with Subhakankshalu (1997). After Gokulamlo Seeta (1997), she was labelled as a traditional actress. Later, hits like Snehithulu (1998), Pandaga (1998), Gilli Kajjalu (1998), Devullu (2000) proved her mettle as an actress. When Raasi’s career witnessed a downfall, she started acting in Telugu films like Samudram (1999).

She debuted in her first Tamil film Priyam. After a successful year in 1996, she received offers like the Vijay film Love Today (1997) and the Ajith Kumar film Rettai Jadai Vayasu (1997). Some of her other films in Tamil are Periya Idathu Mappillai (1997), Ganga Gowri (1997), Thedinen Vanthathu (1997), Kondattam (1998), Kalyana Galatta (1998), Pudhu Kudithanam (1999), Kannan Varuvaan (2000), Kuberan (2000) and Simmasanam (2000). She played a negative role in the Telugu film Nijam (2003), directed by Teja. After her marriage, she took a break from acting and made a comeback in character roles.

During the lockdown, Raasi started her own YouTube channel and started sharing cooking recipes. In her normal conversation during cooking time, Raasi revealed that she has recently signed two big films. Raashi remained tight-lipped about the details of these projects.
